I started this blog for two main reasons.
My first reason was to find an easy way to share recipes with my clients. In my job as a fitness instructor, I meet a lot of women who are in the process of making huge lifestyle changes: they’ve started exercising and now they want to improve their diets too. Some want to do it in order to lose weight but many want to do it for other health reasons, such as lowering cholesterol, dealing with depression, improving energy levels or improving their health in general. My clients often ask me for ideas for healthy meals and, though I’m not a chef, I love sharing my recipes and ideas with people and most of all, I love to be able to help people. Having made major dietary changes myself in the past, I know exactly how difficult it is in the beginning but I also hope to be able to prove that once you give it a bit of time, it’s also very easy and enjoyable to eat healthy. Which leads me to my second reason for starting this blog…
I also hope I can show people, if even just one or two, that healthy food can be tasty. It doesn’t have to be boring and bland. Sometimes people think that to be healthy, you need to deprive yourself of things and you’ll never be able to enjoy ‘proper’ food again and I think it’s a shame that people think that way because it couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ll do my best to prove that
People’s definition of what is healthy varies – mine is briefly: no processed foods, limit saturated fats/animal fats, no meat and avoid wheat, dairy (apart from live yoghurt, buffalo mozarella and cottage cheese) or processed sugars. I like to eat plenty of vegetables, fruit, pulses, beans, tofu and fish. This might seem extreme to some but it works for me and as far as cooking goes, I wouldn’t know any other way, so I don’t feel I’m on a limited diet at all (and I do eat the odd croissant or a pudding when I’m out… I just don’t cook them myself).
I hope you enjoy my blog and please feel free to comment/ask questions!

PS. My faithful, if somewhat cheeky, assistant Frank might pop around every now and then, when he’s not busy goofing around elsewhere….
